Unauthenticated chair control via Bluetooth pairing
Published Jan 5, 2026 · Updated Jan 5, 2026
Missing authentication in WHILL Model C2 and Model F power chairs allows physically proximate attackers to control them over Bluetooth. The Bluetooth connection accepts unauthenticated pairing and then processes remote-drive, speed-profile, lock, and configuration commands as trusted app traffic. No credentials or user interaction are required; exploitation is limited to Bluetooth range and can alter motion and safety-related settings.
