Cross-site scripting in Payara Server before 4.1.2.191.54, 5.83.0, 6.34.0, or 7.2026.1 allows attackers to take over admin accounts. The REST Management Interface places URL-derived data into an error message without output encoding, causing an administrator's browser to execute attacker-controlled JavaScript. Exploitation requires high privileges and active administrator interaction with the crafted URL; successful execution can change the administrator password.
