Command execution via Copy as cURL newline injection
Published Dec 9, 2025 · Updated Apr 13, 2026
Command injection in Mozilla Firefox before 146 and Thunderbird before 146 allows remote attackers to execute commands through Netmonitor. The Windows Copy as cURL formatter escapes quotes with a caret but preserves request-body tabs and line breaks, allowing crafted data to emit another command. Exploitation requires a Windows user to copy the crafted request as cURL and paste it into cmd.exe; commands then run with that user's privileges.
