Authenticated protected-file disclosure via unenforced download policy
Published Dec 18, 2025 · Updated Dec 18, 2025
Incorrect authorization in M-Files Server before 25.12.15491.7 allows remote authenticated users to download protected files. The M-Files Web download path accepts Web Companion requests without enforcing the vault's Print and Download Prevention policy. Exploitation requires a valid user account, Web Companion, and a vault using the Compliance Kit module; it bypasses download prevention but does not change or delete files.
