Local privilege escalation via replaceable executable
Published Dec 17, 2025 · Updated Dec 17, 2025
Local privilege escalation in Acer ListCheck.exe 4.0.0.1 and earlier allows local users to gain elevated privileges by replacing the executable. The executable at C:\ProgramData\OEM\UpgradeTool\ListCheck.exe can be replaced by a low-privileged user, and the system later runs the substituted binary. Local authenticated access and write access to that path are required; successful exploitation executes attacker code with elevated privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
