CVE-2025-14304

Pre-boot memory read and write via uninitialized IOMMU

Published Dec 17, 2025 · Updated Dec 17, 2025

Protection mechanism failure in ASRock Group Intel 500 through 800 series motherboards allows physical attackers to alter pre-boot memory. During UEFI initialization, firmware reports DMA protection as active without configuring and enabling the platform IOMMU. Physical access and a DMA-capable PCIe device permit reading or modifying system memory before kernel defenses load, including pre-boot code injection.
