CVE-2025-14303

Pre-boot memory access via uninitialized IOMMU

Published Dec 17, 2025 · Updated Dec 17, 2025

Protection mechanism failure in MSI Intel 600 and 700 chipset motherboards allows physically proximate attackers to read or alter pre-boot memory. The UEFI firmware reports DMA protection as active but fails to configure and enable the IOMMU during the early boot handoff. Physical access and a DMA-capable PCIe device are required; successful exploitation accesses arbitrary physical memory and enables pre-boot code injection.
