Contributor-level stored XSS via unescaped shortcode attributes
Published Dec 20, 2025 · Updated Dec 20, 2025
Stored XSS in the thegem_te_search shortcode in Damian Góra FiboSearch 1.32.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts. The shortcode handler emits user-controlled attributes into TheGem integration markup without sufficient sanitization or context-appropriate output escaping. Contributor-level access is enough, but exploitation also requires the premium TheGem theme, Header Builder mode, FiboSearch search-bar replacement, and a visitor who loads the affected page.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
