CVE-2025-14252

Kernel privilege escalation via unrestricted hardware access

Published Dec 16, 2025 · Updated Dec 16, 2025

Improper access control in Advantech SUSI APIs 5.0.24335 and earlier allows local users to gain kernel-level code execution. The susi.sys kernel driver permits low-privileged access to operations that read or write arbitrary memory, I/O ports, and model-specific registers without adequate authorization. An installed vulnerable Windows driver and local low-privileged access are required; successful abuse enables privilege escalation, sensitive-memory disclosure, and system compromise.
