CVE-2025-1425Public exploit

File disclosure via passwordless root ntpdate

Published Mar 4, 2025 · Updated Mar 4, 2025

Improper privilege management in PocketBook InkPad Color 3 U743k3.6.8.3671 allows physically proximate attackers to read device files. The /etc/sudoers policy lets the reader account run /ebrmain/bin/ntpdate as root without a password, and ntpdate's key-file option prints file data. A shell on the device, typically installed through physical USB access, is required; reads can be partial but can expose Wi-Fi PSKs.
