CVE-2025-14179Public exploitNetwork attack vector

SQL injection via NUL-truncated quoted strings

Published May 10, 2026 · Updated May 10, 2026

SQL injection in PHP PDO Firebird allows remote attackers to read or modify Firebird data through NUL-byte values passed to PDO::quote(). The driver's token-by-token query builder copies string tokens with strncat(), which stops at the NUL byte and drops the closing quote, so later SQL tokens escape the intended string. Exposure requires an application to quote attacker-controlled values, embed them into a statement, and use pdo_firebird in PHP 8.2.* before 8.2.31, 8.3.* before 8.3.31, 8.4.* before 8.4.21, or 8.5.* before 8.5.6; access remains bounded by the application's database privileges.
