Routing disruption via unauthorized rewrite-rule flushing
Published Jan 9, 2026 · Updated Jan 9, 2026
Missing authorization in WP Page Permalink Extension 1.5.4 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to flush rewrite rules. The cwpp_trigger_flush_rewrite_rules AJAX handler invokes WordPress rewrite-rule flushing when its action is requested but performs no capability check before the operation. Subscriber-level access is sufficient; repeated or unauthorized flushes can disrupt routing behavior and consume server work, with no reported data disclosure.
