Unauthenticated stored XSS via guest display name
Published Dec 17, 2025 · Updated Dec 17, 2025
Stored XSS in WordPlus Better Messages 2.10.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to inject scripts through a guest display name. The guest registration path stores the submitted display name without sufficient sanitization, and guest profile rendering returns that stored value without adequate output escaping. Guest Chat must be enabled and a user must view content containing the attacker-controlled name; the script then runs in that viewer's WordPress origin.
