Stored XSS via unescaped color shortcode attribute
Published Dec 12, 2025 · Updated Dec 12, 2025
Stored XSS in AyoThemes Ayo Shortcodes 0.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through ayo_action color attributes. The ayo_action shortcode handler emits the color attribute into rendered page markup without sufficient input sanitization or output escaping. Contributor-level access is required to store the payload; the script runs in the browser whenever a user opens the affected page.
