Authenticated code execution via unchecked client name
Published Dec 6, 2025 · Updated Dec 8, 2025
Stack-based overflow in Linksys RE6250, RE6300, RE6350, RE6500, RE7000, and RE9000 allows remote authenticated users to execute code. AP_get_wired_clientlist_setClientsName in mod_form.so copies an oversized clientsname_0 value into a stack buffer without checking its length, overwriting the return address. Access to the web management session is required; the published request demonstrates a persistent device crash, while return-address control supports arbitrary code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
