CVE-2025-14046Network attack vector

Unauthorized backend requests via DOM ID collisions

Published Dec 11, 2025 · Updated Dec 11, 2025

Cross-site scripting in GitHub Enterprise Server allows remote authenticated users to trigger unauthorized backend requests through crafted HTML. Insufficient sanitization lets user-supplied elements reuse IDs assigned to server-initialized data islands, overwriting or shadowing Project-view state objects. Successful exploitation requires instance access and a privileged user to view the crafted content; the resulting requests execute with that viewer's backend context.
