Authenticated private project name disclosure via API errors
Published Dec 11, 2025 · Updated Dec 11, 2025
Information disclosure in the GitLab CE/EE API allows remote authenticated users to learn names of inaccessible private projects. API error handling includes a private project's name in responses even when the requesting account lacks access; GitLab has not disclosed the affected endpoint or function. Any authenticated account can submit the relevant API requests, but the published impact is limited to project-name disclosure and excludes project contents or modification.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=17.5 <18.4.6
