Unauthorized course completion via missing enrollment check
Published Jan 9, 2026 · Updated Jan 9, 2026
Missing authorization in Themeum Tutor LMS 3.9.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to complete any course without enrollment. Course::mark_course_complete accepts a caller-supplied course ID after checking only that the user is logged in, then records completion without calling is_enrolled. Subscriber-level WordPress access is sufficient; exploitation changes course completion and progress records but does not expose data or interrupt service.
