Stored XSS via unescaped shortcode name attribute
Published Jan 9, 2026 · Updated Jan 9, 2026
Stored XSS in ThemeLocation WP Popup Magic 1.0.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts via wppum_end. The wppum_end shortcode handler accepts its name attribute without sufficient sanitization and emits the value without context-appropriate output escaping. Contributor-level access is enough to store the payload, which executes in a visitor browser under the affected site origin when the injected page is viewed.
