CVE-2025-1386Network attack vector

Query injection via compressor length overflow

Published Apr 11, 2025 · Updated Apr 11, 2025

Query smuggling in ClickHouse ch-go before 0.65.0 allows remote authenticated users to inject a query packet via external data. Writer.Compress in compress/writer.go casts the payload length plus its header size to uint32 without checking for overflow, so trailing bytes from oversized data become another packet. Exploitation requires control of more than 4 GiB of uncompressed external query data and uses the client's existing database privileges.
