CVE-2025-13824Network attack vector

Unauthenticated controller crash via malformed CIP packets

Published Dec 15, 2025 · Updated Dec 15, 2025

Denial of service in Rockwell Automation Micro820, Micro850, and Micro870 firmware allows remote attackers to crash controllers via malformed CIP packets. The CIP packet handler releases an invalid pointer or reference while processing malformed packet data, forcing the controller into a hard fault. No credentials or user interaction are required, and an affected network-reachable controller remains unresponsive until power-cycled and its recoverable fault is cleared.
