CVE-2025-13740Network attack vector

Stored XSS via unescaped shortcode attributes

Published Dec 15, 2025 · Updated Dec 15, 2025

Stored XSS in the Lightweight Accordion shortcode through 1.5.20 allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts into WordPress pages. The shortcode handler renders user-supplied attributes without sufficient sanitization and output escaping, so crafted values persist as executable page markup. Contributor-level access is required to create the content; the script runs when a visitor opens the affected page and acts in that visitor's browser context.
