Root code execution via unsafe VAE deserialization
Published Dec 23, 2025 · Updated Dec 23, 2025
Deserialization in Tencent HunyuanVideo Current allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code through a crafted VAE checkpoint. The load_vae function passes pytorch_model.pt data to torch.load without validating its serialized objects, allowing attacker-controlled code to run. Exploitation requires a user to open the malicious file or visit a page that supplies it, and successful code runs with the application's root privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
