Origin validation error in Synology ActiveProtect Agent before 1.1.0-0439 allows local users to write restricted-content files during installation. Synology has not disclosed which installer component performs the faulty origin check or how untrusted installation input reaches the file-write operation. Exploitation requires local installation activity and user interaction; successful attacks can alter files with restricted content and interrupt the service.
