Authenticated arbitrary upload via nonterminating extension validation
Published Nov 27, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Arbitrary file upload in Blubrry PowerPress 11.15.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to place crafted files on the server. The powerpress_edit_post function checks the submitted file extension but continues the upload path after validation fails. Contributor-level access is required, and code execution additionally depends on the server executing the uploaded file type.
