Helpdesk administrator escalation via unchecked agent edit
Published Dec 2, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Privilege escalation in ELEX WordPress HelpDesk 3.3.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to gain helpdesk administrator access. The eh_crm_edit_agent AJAX action changes WSDesk agent privileges without verifying that the caller is authorized to assign full helpdesk permissions. Contributor-level WordPress access is sufficient to replace limited Reply Tickets rights with access to ticket management, settings, agent administration, and customer data.
