Privilege escalation in IBM Storage Virtualize 8.5 through 8.7 allows local users to assume another concurrent user's privileges. The login function improperly synchronizes concurrent login processing, allowing privileges to cross between users who log in at the same time. Exploitation requires low-privileged local access, user interaction, and another login during the race window; resulting authority is limited to the other user's assigned privileges.
