CVE-2025-13507Network attack vector

Authenticated service crash via oversized time-series buckets

Published Nov 25, 2025 · Updated Nov 25, 2025

DoS in MongoDB Server 7.0 before 7.0.26, 8.0 before 8.0.16, and 8.2 before 8.2.1 allows remote authenticated users to crash secondaries. Time-series writes can generate bucket documents above the 16 MB BSON limit because storage-time size validation is missing, causing a later assertion to terminate the process. An authenticated user must be able to write to a time-series collection; the demonstrated consequence is secondary-process termination, with no reported confidentiality or integrity impact.
