Unauthenticated cache flushing via unchecked admin hook
Published Nov 27, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Missing authorization in ThemeSupport Hide Category by User Role for WooCommerce 2.3.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to flush the object cache. The admin_init hook reaches wp_cache_flush() without a capability check, allowing an untrusted request to trigger a global cache clear. No authentication or user interaction is required; cache eviction forces data regeneration and degrades site performance.
