CVE-2025-1340Network attack vector

Authenticated code execution via setPasswordCfg stack overflow

Published Feb 16, 2025 · Updated Feb 19, 2025

Stack-based buffer overflow in TOTOLINK X18 9.1.0cu.2024_B20220329 allows remote authenticated users to execute code or interrupt service. The setPasswordCfg handler in /cgi-bin/cstecgi.cgi accepts an overlong String value that overruns stack storage; public material does not identify the parameter or copy operation. Low-privileged access to the network management interface is required, and exploitation can obtain a shell or cause a denial of service.
