Authenticated database disclosure via unprepared term queries
Published Dec 3, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Time-based SQL injection in TaxoPress 3.40.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to extract sensitive database information. The getTermsForAjax function inserts attacker-controlled ordering and limit values into SQL query clauses without allowlisting or safe preparation. Exploitation requires contributor-level access and taxonomy metabox access, which is enabled for contributors by default; the reported consequence is database disclosure.
