Local data disclosure via verbose logging and retention
Published Dec 17, 2025 · Updated Dec 17, 2025
Sensitive-data exposure in Mattermost Desktop App before 6.0.0 allows local users to read potentially sensitive data from application logs. Multiple Electron handlers logged complete URLs, server objects, download items, paths, and error objects, while server removal omitted session-storage cleanup. Access to the user's local files is required; exposure is limited to values recorded in logs or retained for a removed server.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
