Credential disclosure via unauthenticated alternate RPC route
Published Nov 19, 2025 · Updated Nov 19, 2025
Authentication bypass in Lynx Technology Twonky Server 8.5.2 on Linux and Windows allows remote attackers to read administrator credentials. The /nmc/rpc alternate route dispatches log_getfile without the authentication enforced on the normal /rpc route, returning startup logs containing the administrator username and encrypted password. No account or user interaction is required; this flaw discloses only encrypted credentials, while administrator takeover requires a separate decryption weakness.
