Dangerous function use in IBM CICS TX Standard 11.1 and Advanced 10.1 and 11.1 allows local users to execute arbitrary code. An undisclosed CICS TX code path calls gets, which copies input into a destination buffer without checking its size and can overwrite adjacent memory. Low-privileged local access is required; successful exploitation runs attacker-controlled code in the affected process context.
