Authenticated price manipulation via client-supplied checkout totals
Published Nov 16, 2025 · Updated Nov 16, 2025
Business logic error in Bdtask Isshue 5 allows remote authenticated users to place orders with attacker-chosen totals. The /submit_checkout endpoint accepts order_total_amount and cart_total_amount from the POST body without recalculating the cart against server-side prices. A checkout-capable account can lower both values so the application records an order for less than the merchandise price.
