Local arbitrary file write via unsanitized username
Published Nov 15, 2025 · Updated Nov 15, 2025
Path traversal in signup.cpp in Code Projects Email Logging Interface 2.0 allows local users to write files outside the intended directory. The signup routine uses the Username value directly to construct a filesystem path without validation, so ../ sequences redirect the created account file. A low-privileged local user who completes signup gains file-creation access wherever the application process has write permission; no remote vector is reported.
