Administrator-forced survey renaming via nonce-free AJAX action
Published Jan 24, 2026 · Updated Jan 24, 2026
Cross-site request forgery in SurveyJS: Drag & Drop Form Builder 2.5.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to rename surveys. The SurveyJS_RenameSurvey AJAX action performs the state-changing rename without verifying a WordPress nonce to establish administrator intent. Exploitation requires a logged-in site administrator to submit a forged request, such as by following an attacker-controlled link; the reported consequence is limited to survey renaming.
