CVE-2025-13188Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Unauthenticated code execution via unchecked Password copy

Published Nov 14, 2025 · Updated Nov 17, 2025

Stack-based buffer overflow in D-Link DIR-816L 2_06_b09_beta allows remote attackers to execute code via a crafted Password value. The authenticationcgi_main function in /authentication.cgi uses strcpy to copy the externally controlled Password value into a stack buffer without a length check. No authentication or user interaction is required; a request reaching the router's management interface can overwrite stack memory and redirect execution.
