Authenticated command execution via NTP_serverName injection
Published Mar 4, 2025 · Updated Oct 21, 2025
OS command injection in all Edimax IC-7100 IP Camera versions allows remote authenticated users to execute commands via crafted requests. The /camera-cgi/admin/param.cgi endpoint accepts shell metacharacters in NTP_serverName and evaluates the resulting command substitution. Authentication is required, but observed attacks use default administrator credentials to download and execute Mirai payloads.
