Author-level post status changes via missing authorization
Published Nov 21, 2025 · Updated Nov 21, 2025
Missing authorization in PublishPress Future 4.9.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to alter arbitrary post and page statuses. The saveFutureActionData function accepts REST API requests and saves future-action data without verifying permission to modify the targeted content. Author-level access is sufficient, and successful exploitation compromises the integrity of content belonging to other users.
