Administrator-context script execution via unescaped msg parameter
Published Dec 9, 2025 · Updated Apr 2, 2026
Reflected XSS in DuoGeek Custom Admin Menu 1.0.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute script in an administrator’s browser. The adminmenu-settings page returns the msg query parameter without sanitizing or escaping it, so a crafted SVG payload becomes executable markup. Exploitation requires an administrator to visit an attacker-crafted WordPress administration URL, and the script runs in that user’s authenticated browser context.
