Authenticated file upload via WXR extension bypass
Published Dec 5, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Arbitrary file upload in Kraft Plugins Demo Importer Plus 2.0.6 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to write files to the server. The WXR importer accepts double-extension filenames as valid WXR content because its file-type validation does not reject the dangerous extension. Author-level WordPress access is required; uploaded server-executable files can run code with the web server's privileges.
