SMTP data exposure via unchecked TLS certificates
Published Dec 12, 2025 · Updated Dec 12, 2025
Improper certificate validation in ADM Notification settings allows man-in-the-middle attackers to expose SMTP data sent through msmtp. The Notification sender invokes msmtp without validating the SMTP server's TLS certificate, accepting an intercepted endpoint as trusted. Exploitation requires configured msmtp notifications and control of the network path; the documented consequence is disclosure of SMTP information.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=4.1.0 <=4.3.3.RKD2
