DLL search-path hijacking in ASUSTOR ABP and AES allows local users to execute code as LocalSystem after a service restart. A service installed in a directory writable by non-administrative users loads a same-named attacker-controlled DLL without restricting the search path. ABP 2.0 through 2.0.7.9050 and AES 1.0 through 1.0.6.8290 are affected, and a service restart triggers execution with full system privileges.
