Sandbox escape via attacker-controlled external-texture pointer
Published Nov 11, 2025 · Updated Nov 11, 2025
Improper bounds handling in Firefox before 145 allows attackers to escape the content sandbox through crafted WebGPU IPC messages. ExternalTextureSourceHost::Create accepts a cross-process Memory pointer and size, wraps that attacker-chosen region, and copies it into the GPU process. Exploitation requires control of a content process; it provides arbitrary reads from the GPU process and breaks the sandbox boundary.
