Memory corruption via mis-sized WebAssembly array copy
Published Nov 11, 2025 · Updated Apr 13, 2026
Stack buffer overflow in Mozilla Firefox and Thunderbird before 145 and ESR before 140.5 allows remote attackers to corrupt memory. The StableWasmArrayObjectElements constructor gives std::copy a byte-counted source endpoint while copying typed elements, multiplying the copy length by the element size. A user must process attacker-controlled WebAssembly content; public proofs demonstrate incorrect data and a stack-buffer-overflow crash.
