Subscription changes via missing nonce validation
Published Nov 12, 2025 · Updated Nov 12, 2025
Cross-site request forgery in Asgaros Forum 3.2.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to alter users' subscription settings. The set_subscription_level() function accepted a posted subscription_level value and updated the logged-in user's forum metadata without verifying a request nonce. Exploitation requires an authenticated user to submit an attacker-forged request, and the resulting change is limited to that user's subscription preferences.
