Memory disclosure via uninitialized stack serialization
Published Nov 7, 2025 · Updated Nov 7, 2025
Out-of-bounds read in Amazon Ion-C before 1.1.4 allows local users to disclose process memory through crafted Ion text serialization. The debug allocator and UTF-8 escape-handling path read uninitialized stack bytes and render them as escape sequences during Ion text serialization. Exploitation requires attacker-controlled data to be serialized locally; the reported consequence is memory disclosure without integrity or availability impact.
