Unauthenticated settings modification via unchecked REST callback
Published May 29, 2026 · Updated May 29, 2026
Missing authorization in Rank Math SEO 1.0.271 and earlier allows remote attackers to modify homepage SEO settings via a REST request. The update_site_editor_homepage REST callback accepts homepage metadata and writes plugin settings without checking a WordPress capability. No account or user interaction is required; changed breadcrumb labels can display attacker-supplied content across pages that render breadcrumbs.
