PBE key disclosure via migration audit logging
Published Feb 2, 2026 · Updated Feb 2, 2026
Cleartext key storage in Brocade SANnav before 2.4.0b allows local users with host-administrator privileges to read the PBE key from audit logs. During migration, the PBEKey component writes the encryption key without protection into the host server VM system audit log. Triggering requires a migration, and exposure is limited to host server administrators; SANnav administrators and users cannot view this log.
